Assignment 4

Well I've made a new game this week and it's called the Yoshi Jump Game. The steps to creating my jump game was a little difficult than my other games. It was more into little detail with the tiles in the room. I think going tile by tile is what took the longest in the game because the tiles were so small and sometimes they didnt line up right. The difference between this game and the Scroller Shooter Game is that this game was more detailed. The smallest things could change your whole game if you didnt put it in right. With the Scroller Shooter Game it was more obvious and easier to make that game because all you needed was a sprite and a object to shooter also the background moving. With the jump game you have to jump on a platform and collect different objects with out being hit by an enemy. I understand that in order for the tile sets to be in order you have to be patient and place them in the correct places.

Top 5 Platformn Games

Searching through google I found a website called Listol.com which has a list of ten top platform games. Platforms games are basically games that the main character can jump from post to post to make a goal or win the game. The different opstacles within the character and details within the game makes the player interested in the game. Also in platform games there is usually a enemy to try to stop you from jumping onto the platform or an enemy to keep you away from the goal. One of the platform games that was at the top of the list on listol.com was Super Mario Galaxy. This game is played on Wii or the Nintendo. On the Mario Game mario bouncing from planet to planet and he collects stars and coins for points.

The other 4 was Super Mario Advance 2, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Super Mario Land 2:6 golden coins, and Sonic Advance. Basically these games are all the same. They all have a goal and they all have enemy's to try to stop them. I do agree with this website that these games are the top 5 platform games because I have heard of them and played some of them. Most of these games are on the computer, Gameboy, and playstation.
